LAKE NORMAN NORTH CAROLINA REAL ESTATE

 

   Lake Norman is the largest body of fresh water in the state of North Carolina. It was named after Norman Cocke , the former president of Duke Power, the company that created the lake. The Lake was created in 1967 by the building of the Cowans Ford Dam on the Catawba River. The lake was built to help in the Production of power.

  • Approx 550 miles of shoreline (more than the coast of both North and South Carolina)

  •  Its 130 feet deep at its deepest point with an average depth of 33 feet

  •  Four counties border Lake Norman: Catawba, Iredell, Lincoln, and Mecklenburg
